Hosted by its owners, Tierra de Leyendas offers a close and personal way of traveling. We enjoy sharing local stories, recommendations and the spirit of Tierra del Fuego, creating genuine connections that turn a stay into a memorable experience

María Paz Muriel - Maia

She holds a degree in Tourism from Universidad del Salvador and brings more than twenty years of professional experience in hotel management. Maia began her career within the highest standards of international hospitality at the Marriott Plaza Hotel, where she advanced to the role of Reservations Manager. After this chapter, she embarked on a year-long journey that broadened her global perspective before returning to her hometown at the End of the World. For over a decade, Maia taught Hotel Management, sharing her expertise with future professionals, while continuing to deepen her own path through a diploma in Environmental Tourism. For the past ten years, she has also been actively involved in environmental volunteer work as the founder of A Limpiar Ushuaia, a community-driven movement dedicated to caring for local landscapes and raising environmental awareness among residents and visitors alike. As a natural extension of this commitment, Maia also created Ushuaia Eco Pledge, an environmental agreement that invites travelers to take part in responsible tourism practices while visiting this fragile and unique destination. Tierra de Leyendas Boutique Hotel is a proud promoter and the first sponsor of this initiative. Alongside her work as a hotelier, Maia is a professional photographer, Gestalt therapist, and independent consultant, integrating human connection, creativity, and sustainability into every aspect of her work and guest experience

Sebastián García Cosoleto - Sebas

Sebastián is a chef deeply committed to healthy, conscious cuisine, guided by respect for quality ingredients, local identity, and the natural environment. His approach to cooking balances technique and simplicity, allowing flavors to speak for themselves while honoring the origins of each product. He spent eight years at the Marriott Plaza Hotel, where he worked as Banquet Chef and Kitchen Supervisor, gaining solid experience within high-standard international hospitality. During the year-long journey he shared with Maia, Sebastián immersed himself in the culinary traditions of southern Spain, working with a catering company on the Costa del Sol and discovering the richness of Andalusian flavors, seasonal cooking, and Mediterranean influences. Back in Ushuaia, he contributed to the development and opening of new gastronomic and hotel projects, always with a strong focus on authenticity and guest experience. His cuisine reflects a deep connection with Patagonia, combining local products, homemade techniques, and a thoughtful, unpretentious style. Today, Sebastián is devoted to offering an exclusive dinner service for guests at Tierra de Leyendas Boutique Hotel — an intimate culinary experience designed to complement the spirit of the house, where each dish becomes part of the stories, warmth, and memories shared at the End of the World.
